This Privacy Policy outlines how Ambong–Ambong, Langkawi (hereinafter referred to as “Ambong–Ambong”, “we” or “us”), will handle personal information collected from you in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“PDPA”) and the laws of Malaysia. By providing us with your personal information you are consenting to the collection, use, access, transfer, storage, and processing of your personal information as contained in this Privacy Policy.

In order for us to provide you with the best service possible, we may collect personal data that include contact information about you as our guest or booker or as a travel companion(s), including but not limited to name, address(es), telephone number(s), email address(es), passport and visa information and other relevant contact information, identification details, transaction information such as booking and travel information, any information necessary to fulfil special requests (e.g., health issues that require specific or specials needs, accommodation, purchase of goods and services), information captured on card key and other security systems, including any recordings of your image captured on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) or your voice calls made to us, information you provide us regarding your marketing preferences or in the course of participating in surveys, contests or promotional offers, contact and other relevant details of corporations and individuals with whom we do business (e.g., travel agents, meeting and event planners).
At the same time, we also confirm that you have obtained the prior consent of your travel companion in regard to their personal information given to us.
The personal information we collect can either be obligatory or voluntary. Obligatory personal information is those that we require in order to provide you with our products and services. Again, if you don’t provide us with the obligatory personal information, we would not be able to provide you with our products and services that meet your needs and expectations. Voluntary personal information is information which is not mandatory in order for us to provide you with our products and services. If you do not provide us with the voluntary personal information, you can still sign up for our products and services and will be indicated in the application form.

Personal information may be collected directly during a reservation process, guest registration card upon check-in/telephone/e-mail/web booking, signing up to our loyalty programme, subscription to any of our publications (for example, newsletters and brochures), enquiry and feedback forms such as guest survey questionnaires or through making payment for goods and/or services.
Apart from personal information obtained from you directly as described above, we may also obtain your personal information from third parties we deal with or connected to you. For example, from airlines, travel agencies and other such sources in respect of which you have given your consent to disclose information relating to you and/or where otherwise lawfully permitted.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information collected from you or from the category of third parties identified above may be utilised for one or more of the following purposes:

YOUR RIGHTS TO ACCESS, TO DELETE AND CORRECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will assist you to modify, correct or delete your personal information held by us. Where you wish to have access to your personal information in our possession, or where you are of the opinion that such personal information held by us is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or where relevant, not up to date, you may make a request to us in writing to the Resort Manager at Ambong–Ambong, Jalan Teluk Baru, Pantai Tengah, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah Darul Aman, Malaysia (telephone no: +60 4 955 8428).
Reasonable efforts to comply with your request to access or correct your personal information will be carried out within 21 days of receiving your written request. All requests for access to your personal information must be submitted in writing. When communicating your request, please be sure to include your full name, address and telephone number so we can ascertain your identity and specify clearly the type of enquiry and the original source of data collection.
Please note that we may have to withhold access to your personal information in certain situations, for example when we are unable to confirm your identity or where information requested for is of a confidential commercial nature or in the event, we receive repeated requests for the same information. Nevertheless, we will notify you of the reasons for not being able to accede to your request.
