Ambong Ambong is a group of cottages set amidst a tropical forest.
Perched on a forested hill slope, the resort is unique by always giving the natural environment priority even when it was being built. Buildings were built around existing forest trees, nesting sites left unmolested (even if it meant resiting a building) and the slopes were only minimally disturbed.
The result is a resort where the sense and feel of the jungle (replete with chattering monkeys, noisy cicadas and spectacular hornbills) is ever present and all-pervasive.
If you love nature you will enjoy staying with us.
As you breakfast in your private balcony you will be able to observe the wild animals that we share the forest with. Look out for the shy and endearing leaf monkeys, the long-tail macaques, the silent giant squirrels (large as puppies) and the horn-bills. If lucky you may even see a flying lizard in mid-glide. On some nights the Giant (1.4m wingspan) Malaysian Fruit Bats may be observed.
The rooms are on a steep hill-side and though transport is provided till mid-night, some guests prefer to walk up to better enjoy the stunning views. From each cottage you can get glimpses of lovely islands, white beaches and the craggy outline of the second highest mountain range in Langkawi..
