Conservation & Sustainability Efforts
In the construction of our resorts, few trees were felled and minimal earthworks were carried out, as we honor the natural geographical terrains of the sites. Recycled hardwoods or sustainably grown rubberwood were sourced for designs which are eco-friendly and low-impact on the environment. Our villas were designed to accommodate trees, keeping many native and protected species such as Bongor (Largerstromia Langkawiensis) and Lancong Perlis (Berrya cordifolia) in the villas and around the resort.
We have left the original wildlife that occupied our patch of pristine tropical rainforest undisturbed. Proudly home to three species of hornbills namely the Oriental Pied Hornbill, Great Hornbill and Wreathed Hornbill, Ambong–Ambong is a magnificent spot for bird watching in Langkawi. As suitable nesting trees are becoming increasingly hard for hornbills to find, we are encouraging more hornbills to nest safely within our grounds with man-made nesting boxes, in the efforts to preserve their presence in our environment.
