Inspired by ancient healing remedies used by the Borneo indigenous tribes and guided by modern practice, the treasury of massages available at Amaala is thorough with Amaala’s signature massage leading the spa menu.

Quality oils, exclusive only at Amaala are infused with natural extracts of herbs from the rainforest and are designed to harmonize and enhance each treatment session. Attention is not only paid to the physical aspects of the massage but also to creating a “meditative path,” that trains the mind to achieve a new level of peace and awareness.

Inspired by the legend of Hominodun, the Kadazan Dusun beauty signifying the earthly symbol of life, at Amaala we bring the rice and flowers that were believed to be the source of beauty of Hominodun bringing out the journey to signifying youthfulness.

With wooden houses designed like a traditional Malay village, situated within a lush, ancient rainforest, Amaala exudes a rustic, jungle-like spa. Monkeys bounce off roves around dusk, lush foliage of towering trees hugs the walls, and the sounds of birds, squirrels, and insects provide a natural soundtrack to Amaala.
